Dr. Anna Jumtina Manning is an ALF Therapy practitioner based in Boulder, Colorado. Her journey began in Latvia, a small Northern/Eastern European country where she was raised by her grandmother in a town deeply connected to nature, the Baltic Sea, and the old traditions of her ancestors. Both of her parents were practicing surgeons in the capital city of Riga, continuing a long family lineage in medicine—a tradition that remains strong in her family today.
At the age of 15, Dr. Jumtina moved to a small town in Alaska, where she developed a deep appreciation for rugged wilderness and formed a new, intimate connection with the natural world.
She later attended the University of Washington and the University of Alaska before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. After graduating, she quickly immersed herself in the world of biological dentistry, drawn to its whole-body perspective and its emphasis on how oral health influences overall systemic health.
Dr. Jumtina has always had a natural inclination to ask why. Biological dentistry aligned perfectly with this mindset, allowing her to see the intricate connections between the teeth, the mouth, the body, the environment, and even human consciousness. Early in her holistic dental practice, she learned that no oral issue exists in isolation. Through thoughtful conversations and a continued search for underlying causes, she consistently uncovered deeper contributing factors behind patients’ dental concerns.
As her knowledge expanded, so did her collaboration with other professionals: osteopathic physicians, functional medicine doctors, and a variety of therapists. She observed how health reflects the harmony of the systems around us—and how symptoms often signal disruptions in that harmony. She became fascinated by how many essential oral functions are overlooked, even within holistic dentistry: breathing, speech, nervous-system regulation, cranial fluid drainage, detoxification, and swallowing—all foundational processes that influence the digestive system, brain development, and emotional well-being. She found herself drawn closer and closer to the true root causes behind issues such as the need for braces, wisdom-tooth extraction, teeth grinding, improper breathing, and dysfunctional swallowing patterns.
In 2020, Dr. Jumtina was introduced to the ALF approach by her close friend, Dr. Josh Krembs, DO. This moment sparked a deeper commitment to helping patients resolve functional issues and guiding children’s growth toward healthier, more harmonious development. She has continued extensive training in the field and considers it a lifelong passion filled with ongoing discovery.
Dr. Jumtina has since developed the Inner Light ALF Approach, a patient-centered philosophy that recognizes each person’s unique individuality. She does not believe in one-size-fits-all treatment; instead, she works closely with each patient, meeting them where they are and honoring the pace at which their body is ready to change.
She currently lives in Boulder with her husband, Bryan, and their two dogs. She enjoys hiking, spending time in nature, reading philosophy, and visiting her family in both Latvia and Alaska. Through her personal growth and her work with others, she embraces an open-minded, ever-evolving approach to life—and aims to help her patients do the same.
